Steve Barrett photographed these orphans in 1992 on a trip to Bucharest, Romania where he taught photography in an orphanage filled to capacity. His objective was to empower these "charming, troubled, attention-starved children and show the world through their eyes." This August, Steve will travel to Mozambique to teach photography to orphans with AIDS who are raising their younger siblings. He’ll be better equipped this time around–his 12 year old son, Max will be with him. Read about the children Steve and Max will visit.
